Juan C. Linares
Puerto Rican filmmaker Juan C. Linares is known for his darkly comedic, character-driven narratives that explore the intersection of humor and tragedy. With a distinctive blend of dark humor and emotional depth, his films, such as Warren? and Parkside, delve into the absurdity of everyday life, human relationships, and cultural identity. His feature debut, Parkside, premiered at the 2024 Puerto Rico Film Festival to critical acclaim. He is currently slated to direct A Night at Moonlight for the production company Hirsch-Giovanni. In addition to his work as a writer and director, Linares has contributed to a range of fiction projects as an Assistant Director, including First Check (1st AD), Departing Seniors (2nd AD), and Colapso (2nd AD). His experience behind the camera is informed by his early interest in acting and a lifelong fascination with human behavior, which continues to shape the tone and themes of his cinematic work.
