I am S M Monowar Jahan (Roni). I am an independent filmmaker and a photographer. In 2015 i started my photography career by completing basic and professional photography courses at PATHSHALA South Asian Media Institute. Then, in 2019 I completed a documentary-making course at the Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute. In, 2020 I completed a filmmaking course from the Bangladesh Short Film Forum. I was an assistant director with prominent filmmaker Akram Khan in his feature-length film "Nakshi Kanthar Jamin" which is Gov. Grant's film. I also worked with Bangladeshi well-known director and producer Shankha Das Gupta as an assistant director for his feature-length film and web series. I have also worked as an associate director in two web series produced by Hoichoi and Chorki. In 2022, I participated in the Doc Lab organized by Dhaka Doc Lab and Liberation War Museum. My second short documentary “Living Art”, which I produced in 2023, was officially selected for premiering at the 8th Eastbourne International Film Festival, London this year and participated in various festivals.
